| the humidity in singapore is helping me to find a new profound adoring appreciation for the refreshing coolness of switzerland... but the food here rocks so byebye to the diet for jami's wedding... sorry honey! i promise to start when i get back. but of course, then there is that week in atlanta where i plan to hit up every buffet in a 10 mile radius... | | |
| i considered pretending i didn't notice my name on the list, but alas, stacy knows i would read it! haha... (^@^) good time to blog tho. just got back from a wedding in the netherlands and it rocked! i have never seen people drink or smoke so much. in fact, i have never seen people do so much pot either... and i went to cal! but alas, im now back at work. im kind of tired of the 12-14 hour days now... i want to play. this job makes me eat too much... anyways, enough rambling...
10 years ago I was starting my senior year of high school... i learned that if u qualify for financial aid for the SAT app fee, u can apply for up to 6(?) schools for free so i retook the SAT's. i cared so little that i forgot my calculator.but guess what? apparently im an old fashioned gal -- that score was my PR. by the way, originally, i had no idea what i wanted to study or become (still working on the answer to that one, actually) so i thought i would copy everyone else and say international business. since haas at cal = undeclared freshman year, my first choice was actually davis... cuz u know, international agriculture! haha... glad that didn't pan out so successfully... oh my golly... ten years ago. it's almost the ten year reunion! (>_<)
5 years ago I starting my senior year (part two) at cal... everything made me cry. oh! this is my last time eating popcorn shrimp at the dc. oh! this is my last time ditching discussion. yadayadayada... the typical "me", had no idea what i wanted to do after i graduated but as everyone else were recruiting, i started to go crazy as well. to be frank, i missed half of those interviews at the career center... but come on... it's way out of the way!
1 year ago I just got back from japan and was starting my first "real" job. i missed the kids and the people there... the lifestyle (u know, sans car!)... the karaoke... the convenience stores... and of course, the kids...
5 snacks I enjoy flamin' hot cheetoes cherry garcia (ben and jerry's) beef jerkey chinese bean curd (garlic flavor) chocolate and nuts (i realize i am a cheater by using the and but how can i limit my passion/hobby to a mere 5 items?!)
5 songs I know all the words to head, shoulders, knees and toes the alphabet song (thank goodness stacy mentioned it or i would have one less in my repertoire!) i am one of those people who gets really excited when the song comes on, but cannot actually recall any of the lyrics. so basically, im just leaving my mouth open waiting for a nice (aka easy) part for me to get in on and then realizing the song is soon about to end... u know, like those people who are trying to get into a game of jump rope and they sit there and no matter how many times they bounce their heads to synchronize with the timing of the roap hitting the ground, they can never get in...
5 things I would do with 100 million dollars give to mommie (buy her a house and a car... and a lot of chocolate with nuts inside) shop with allie eat with mommie and allie donate to charity buy a jet so i can commute from home to work every day
5 places I would run away to japan bay area bern alaska resting place of snuggle wuggle
5 things I would never ever ever wear to be seen biker shorts (any spandex bottoms for that matter) flower-patterned bottoms (or any other dizzy prints) gold caps on my teeth bling bling anything (except a watch with my profile etched on... in diamonds) fur
5 (or 7) favorite TV shows sex and the city friends simpsons or later seinfelds i love lucy nip/tuck or desperate housewives
5 bad habits binging -- what in the world is portion control?! discussing my unrealistic diets, excessively trying to laugh off stress and negative emotions flossing less than daily (a lot less) taking long showers
5 biggest joys family friends significant other eating tv/dvd
My only toys mr. gorilla scrabble dvds cell phone anything and everything in the kitchen -- ooh! so shiny! i will just look at them...
5 fictional characters I would date scott speedman from felicity matt damon from bourne identity/supremacy mark wahlberg from either the big hit or the italian job brad pitt from spy games joshua jackson from dawson's creek

| european commercials are awesome. u know how u watch those award shows and catch the funny ones? here, funny is my reality! let me tell u about three recent ones...
mazda... a guy has to rush deliver some mannequins so he has them strapped in the back of his car as he zoom, zoom, zooms up and down a hill... he arrives safely in the nick of time (funny i say nick cuz the mirror has two faces is on tv rite now and im looking at nick nolte!) he unloads the mannequins and u notice all of them have hard nipples!! that would never fly in the states. but apparently it is operation go-for-it here...
H&M denim... this girl is putting on makeup and perfume and u think she is going to head out to a party. but then she lies down on her bed instead and just when ur about to ask, what the?! a guys climbs in the window... they start making out and they are tearing each other's clothes off until they get to the jeans. then it cuts to the next scene and them cuddling on the bed with nothing on but their jeans... i guess some clothes feel so good u can bypass cardiovascular exercise all together!
Ann's frozen foods... the whole commercial is just about a chinese family. the mother is wearing one of those traditional qi pao's and her twin girls are laughing and having the time of their lives running in the house. then they take a bath, change into comfies, sit down, and their mommie serve them egg rolls that are the miraculous consequence of owning a microwave... and it says something like ann cares and wants u to spend ur life enjoying it...
i know, i know... u wish it were u on my futon in front of the tv rite now...
| YAY, it's finally the weekend!!!!! let's recap chuchu's first week back...
get up. come to work. say byebye to daylight. say byebye to evening to myself for relaxing (aka watching TV). go home at 10. be stubborn and turn on TV anyways. watch a few episodes. fall asleep on the futon. wake up several times throughout the nite from paranoia cuz i didn't set the alarm and it's actually not that comfortable cuz i didn't open the futon up. wake up. come back to work...
but the exciting thing is, next monday is a bank holiday so i get the day off! yay!! the long wknd will finally allow me to sleep in and watch uninterrupted TV, although i will probably end up rewatching Friends again... wait, now i also have sex and the city. of course, it is also never too late to try and sit through CSI, Columbo, Desperate Housewives, and The Simpson's in french, german, or italian! hehe. i am sooooo international.
alrighty, back to some major marketing butt kicking...
| can't believe vacation is over and i am back at work... spent all morning catching up on emails and wishing that i were at home watching DVDs while drinking hot chocolate instead. boohoo... but quick recap of the dopest 3 weeks ever!
arrived and spent the first few days just having lots of quality family time. by that, i mean food and sleep and food and tv and food. that and shopping, of course! i was determined to find something cute for the wedding since nothing i own seemed fun enough. lots of things were checked off my list... they included visiting target, eating (mexican, check. japanese, check. pho, check. thai, had a bite of a friend's but close enough so check. smoothies, check. caesar chicken wrap, check. el pollo loco, doh! fried chicken, check), shopping (necessary goods, check. unnecessary goods, check.), watching TV, and albeit only for twenty minutes, played the piano! but let's see... what really blew... what about the fact we just finished criticizing the pacific governments for lacking enough organization to respond effectively to the tsunami and then we have to sit here and watch our own screw up in orleans? i can't believe all this damage took place in just one small area. makes u feel vulnerable. makes u fear that it only gets worse from here...
wow, that sucks... focus on the better things... so jules got married! it was in san jo and the ceremony was a lot shorter than i thought. thank goodness we were only lost for a little bit or we could have missed the ceremony altogether! but the best part about the wedding was how nice it was to see everyone. makes me wish i were back in the bay area... and makes me sad to think that by the time i get back, more poeple would be moving away... boohoo. i wish things would stay the same sometimes. oh wells. part of growing up, rite? by the way, finally met up with someone i have not seen in years... it's amazing how some memories are recalled with so many details that u feel like ur still rite there... there are people u love that u can't imagine not talking to on a regular basis because u don't want to take steps forward without them at ur side. and then there are people that u have such intense interactions with that u never need a refresher course even tho it's been a while... all this talk is making me hungry... thinking of u, xoxo...
